CAZ HEISE BACKS MOVEMBER’S PUSH FOR URGENT ACTION ON MEN’S HEALTH

Independent candidate for Cowper, Caz Heise, has thrown her support behind Movember, backing their call for urgent investment in men’s health to stop men dying too young.

Movember is urging all parties and candidates contesting the 2025 Federal Election to commit to substantial funding to improve men’s health outcomes. As part of this push, Movember has pledged $10 million and is calling for an additional $60 million from the federal government to fully implement the National Men’s Health Strategy 2020-2030.

Caz Heise said the statistics in Cowper make it clear why urgent action is needed.

“The numbers are stark - 44.9% of men in Cowper are dying before the age of 75.  I fully support Movember’s call for targeted investment to drive down preventable deaths and ensure men have access to the support and services they need.”

“$60 million is a fraction of the federal health budget , yet its impact would be enormous. We should be funding proven programs that prevent illness, improve mental health, and reduce avoidable deaths”

The Real Face of Men’s Health Report highlights the urgent need for action, with research showing that tailored community programs can improve men’s health outcomes by meeting men where they are, encouraging better habits, and reducing the stigma around seeking help.

“Supporting Movember is not just about growing a moustache; it’s about igniting conversations and implementing meaningful change in our communities.

“I am proud to support Movember's mission to raise awareness about these issues and advocate for necessary reforms. It is vital we engage our community to tackle men's health head-on and create a supportive environment for men to discuss their health openly.”
